About Marcia
![]() I always had a huge love for paper, pens and ink. When my children were young, I studied calligraphy from a local artist and immersed myself in the study and practice of hand lettering. I specialize in variations of Copperplate, finely tuned over the years. I use dip pens and different types of inks to create all of your unique event pieces. For wedding calligraphy, as in fashion, popular ink colors tend to change over the years. Black ink on white or cream envelopes has remained a strong choice for wedding calligraphy. Gold ink and any shade of grey is now just as popular in wedding invitation design as well as calligraphy.
I provide calligraphy for any celebration including save the dates, engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, anniversary, birthday, corporate event or any other occasion. If you have a poem, song lyrics or wedding vows that you'd like inscribed for a special gift, please contact me. In addition, I will be happy to answer any of your etiquette questions relating to addressing your event pieces. My home studio is north of Chicago in Libertyville, Illinois. I have worked for clients throughout the Chicago region and nationwide since 1990. Proud member of: The Chicago Calligraphy Collective, and, The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH). When I'm not practicing, addressing envelopes or mixing ink, I might be playing with my grandchildren, drinking strong coffee or reading (actual) books. Contact me for pricing information or any other question, and I'll help you get the process started! |
